During early February, under the compacted curriculum, our class started a unit on Human Body Systems. The unit was started through student inquiry and a carousel research activity. Students were given IPADS and flip chart paper and asked to answer as many questions as they could about a given body system. The students had four minutes with each body system (Respiratory System, Circulatory System, Digestive System, Endocrine System, Excretory System and Nervous System). Once they finished the list of questions, they could make their own questions and have other groups answer them. In the end, students presented their findings to the class.
Students watched a short video clip and were asked to answer questions and hand in their journals for participation marks.

On February 9th we began diving in to specific systems. We started with the Nervous System. Students discussed the difference between a reflex(tapping their knee) and a reaction (receiving a ball that was thrown at them). To discuss reflexes we watched a short video clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHRC8SlLcH0).
