Meet the teacher: Mme Carla Mountali
This is my ninth year teaching for the Vancouver School Board. Prior to embarking upon a new career as a Francophone/French Immersion teacher, I taught ESL to adult newcomers in the LINC/ELSA program for 15 years. I learned French as a young adult living in France, and I continue to speak French at home with my Francophone husband. My four sons (aged 13 to 23) attend or have attended Francophone public school. My main interests as a teacher are community-building, multilinguism, learning technology, imaginative education, and project-based learning. In July 2017, I completed a Master's degree in Imaginative Education at SFU. I am very pleased to be able to work with your children in the French Immersion program!

It is my great pleasure to work with your children in the French Immersion program at Kerrisdale Elementary. I would like to give you a little bit of background on me, and I would also like you to know that I will always welcome your questions, suggestions, and concerns. Please feel free to use the blog or contact forms, or to e-mail me directly.
Below you'll find my first attempt at digital storytelling. I prepared it as part of a language portfolio when I was training as a Francophone/French Immersion teacher at Simon Fraser University. It might give you a little more insight into who I am and what I care about. See if you can spot my sons or me!
